What I believe

I believe that every individual carries a narrative that is far more than a simple sequence of events; it is a complex tapestry woven from personal history, cultural heritage, and the quiet internal dialogues of the psyche. In a world that often demands quick labels, the act of being heard authentically becomes a profound form of healing. I provide care to a broad spectrum of populations, informed by my extensive background in supporting all members of the Oregon community, including Veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, and BIPOC communities. By creating a space where you are heard without judgment, we transform isolated experiences into shared human connections that honor the individual and foster lasting healing.   Whether I am teaching, managing acute crises, or working one-on-one, my mission is to honor the dignity of the person behind the story.

What I do

Medication Management

I provide a comprehensive approach to medication management that bridges the gap between a biological understanding of the brain and the deeply personal meaning of treatment. While my doctoral training at OHSU provided a rigorous biomedical foundation for prescribing, my practice is also psychoanalytically-informed. This means that, in addition to addressing symptoms, we explore your unique relationship with medications by examining the hopes, fears, or internal narratives that shape your experience of treatment. Our treatment goals extend beyond simple symptom reduction. I work collaboratively with you to ensure that pharmacological support serves as a stabilizing bridge toward greater autonomy and psychological growth. By integrating a psychodynamic perspective, we honor your subjective experience, ensuring that your medication plan is not just clinically effective but also personally meaningful and aligned with your broader path to healing.

Psychotherapy

I believe that sharing our stories is a vital act of healing, transforming isolated experiences into a shared human connection that honors our inherent dignity. In my practice, I provide a space where being heard authentically becomes a catalyst for deep and sustainable change. Every individual carries a narrative far more complex than a sequence of events—it is a living tapestry of personal history, culture, and the internal psyche. I look beyond surface-level symptoms to gain a deeper understanding of the underlying emotional patterns that influence your life. We work together to bring clarity and understanding to the different components of your experience, helping you navigate your unique path toward growth and a more integrated sense of self.  

Consultation

My consultation services aim to improve care quality in behavioral health. I offer specialized case consultations for practitioners addressing addiction and mental health challenges, using a harm-reduction approach to enhance patient results. Additionally, I have extensive experience creating educational tools for organizations, designing materials that facilitate communication between healthcare providers, organizations, and communities. By emphasizing clarity and empathy, I transform complex psychiatric concepts into accessible resources that support both professionals and the public.

Education

Advocacy through Learning. I believe that education is a form of advocacy that bridges the gap between clinical theory and lived experience. I lead educational sessions that explore the intersection of mental health, recovery, and advocacy, drawing on my background supporting a broad spectrum of Oregonians. Whether working with professionals or the community, I strive to foster comprehension of behavioral health issues by centering the authentic human experience over a diagnosis. Through this work, I equip participants with the tools to navigate the complexities of behavioral health with skill and empathy.
